Is office 2000 compatible with windows 7 64 bit
I can't say for sure, but Office works with Windows 7, so it should be possible to run Office on Windows 8. Office does not run on Windows 7 64bit though, so Windows 8 64bit almost certainly will not support it. But as Kkyishkkii brought up: Why would you want to run a 13 year old productivity application? Odds are you have a home-spun database that was written in Access that is not compatible with newer versions, so i understand that.
But it's probably time to look into replacing that database with something modern, there is likely software available to replace the system you've created. Newer processors should. Offically nothing before Office is supported on Windows 8 and I haven't tried anything older yet. If your runnnig the 32bit version then I see no problems in trying to install any other version of Office.
The 64 bit version I have only tried with Office and Congratulations on your first post. This thread is referring to Office , not Windows In addition, both Office and Windows are EoL and have not had any security or functionality updates in quite some time.
You can check if your Windows is bit x86 or bit x64 by right clicking on Computer, My Computer, Local Computer, This Computer or whatever it's called on your Desktop, then left-click on Properties and look at "System Type" in the window that comes up.
I have installed and used most functionality of Office on Windows 8. Some tweaking was involved with Outlook and I got an error when installing Access, but basic functionality seemed to work. No guarantees on advanced functions or any other issues you may encounter. Either way, I wouldn't install or use anything below Office on Windows 8. You can always try Office on a 60 day trial while you decide which ongoing option suits you best. Those reports are mixed, some people install and run Office without trouble. That said, it would be good if Microsoft explained in a little detail what the incompatibility is. Microsoft could overcome that suspicion with a bit more openness. Menu Cart.

I've read that it's not possible to update Office on Windows 7, is that true?
Are there other issues? Thanks, D. Tuesday, October 20, AM. Hi, I meant that you may need to get the exact answer from Office side not OS. Based on my research, Office is supported in Windows Vista, thus it should be supported in Windows 7 as well.
That means you can install office in Windows 7 and install updates from Microsoft Update. However, because Office is ended Support in July 14, , there have been no fixes for issues that occur when this product is run on Windows 7. OK, thanks. Monday, October 26, PM. To be able to update Office is not related to the OS.
Office 's lifecycle ended on and July 14, for extended support. So regardless of the OS, there should not be anymore support for Office Tuesday, October 20, PM. Hi, For software and hardware compatibility, you can check in Windows Compatibility Center.
BTW, it is recommended to involve Office Home for more information. Hope it helps. Wednesday, October 21, AM. I know about the support. Trying to run Office Service relase 1a produced an error message that it couldn't complete, referring to a text file that didn't seem to mention an error. It mentioned that IE 8 was installed instead of IE5, but went on from there, so it doesn't seem like that was what was wrong. I tracked down the full package filename O2ksr1adl.
