Cannot install zune on xp
I have had the same issues with Zune since I aquired my Lumia iphone wannabe after some atempts to get answer from this forum I was informed that xp is old and requires some deep mods. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help.
Thanks for your feedback. Thank you for your reply I have had trouble getting zune to work for months now and came to the point where I'm irritated not all of us are computer geeks not stero typing just frustrated and have given up even trying. If you can help, then please help me I'm not a computer geek and would like zune to work so I can at least update the phone also it would be nice if the forum advisers would persevere and stay and see it through I have had 1 adviser on this forum just give 1 possible solution then not heard from them again.
To your P. S the Nokia windows phone is a dissapointment I have been a avid Nokia user and was assured that the Nokia Lumia windows phone was the phone to have only to find that my older Nokia can do more, syncronising calendars, editing word docs, navigation etc trouble free I have a old PDA that out does the windows phone in some operations it was really frustrating seeing my freinds with iphones doing the same funtions seamlessly, unfortunately I'm tied in with a long contract so not an easy change but after seeing how the iphone performs the equivilent tasks I'm tempted to take the loss and get the iphone.
I'm running XP SP3 and have tried all the solutions mentioned previously. I added Administrators with Full Control and propagated this down to all child objects. Entegy Thank you for you response the problem is after starting zune the "Microsoft Zune has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience". NET Framework 3. NET versions 2. We're sorry but an error occured while downloading one or more components and the troubleshooter cannot be run Plase try again later. I'll look into some things on my end and get back to you.
If you could tell me what antivirus you are using? And the model of your computer? Jordan Sullivan. I run that and it looks like it completes but no icons ever show up, search reveals no Zune program, and the update just keeps coming back. This thing is a pain for me too. It keeps wanting to look for more updates, and doesn't want to continue. At first I thought it was the anti-virus freaking it out, so I removed it.
I've stipped every other possible program off this system that isn't "essential" and about 10 minutes away from blowing it away and installing XP over again. Mine installed quick and easy on the first try. I know MS couldn't worked on this better, but doesn't seem all that troublesome to me I got fed up after fiddling with it for a few hours.
I'll go back to their house tomorrow and start with a fresh Windows install. I finally got it to install after formatting, installing XP, and running the install on a fresh image. How do I skip it? In my case this was what happened: It took like minutes finding for updates, after that it passed to the next part and started the installation part. Call Zune, that's what I did. It wouldn't install on one of the laptops we use I have no idea why..
I believe it had to do something with Windows Media Player Can't remember. But I don't know if that would be any of you here. Things that block the Windows Media 11 Format Runtime from installing would block Zune too, and that's an area where I can probably help.
I still can't figure out how to install it. Anyone here that could install it succesfully? I need help Let me tell you a little story. My old 3rd gen ipod broke last week so I decided "hey lets try out the zune" especially because I wanted a radio tuner as my Ipod had essentially functioned as the hub of my cars music It directly connected to my pioneer head unit's auxiliary input and the sound was beautiful.
I decided to buy a zune and upon getting it home I was quite happy First off I could not get the software to run in windows vista at all which I consider wholly unacceptable that MS wants to push Zune and Vista yet they would not work together regardless of what I tried.
I gave up and rebooted into windows xp sp2 and got the software to install without a hitch unlike many people my install went flawless. Upon trying to load music to my zune sometimes it would work, sometimes the program would just crash to the desktop, and sometimes it would say the song made it onto the Zune, however when trying to find the music on my Zune it was nowhere to be found This thread is locked.
